2010-Chinese-Night-w

HELENSBURGH Tennis Club members enjoyed the popular annual Chinese night on Saturday.

The hot weather seemed to put a few off playing tennis, but there was no stopping the eating and drinking part of the night as the photo shows.

In the tournament Alistair Hope and senior coach Brian Griffen's partner Lou beat Bobby Kerr and Alison Fotheringham in a closely fought final. Thanks go to social convener Alison for the themed table settings and for organising the food.

Be security conscious

Tennis-club-kitchener-wMEMBERS of Helensburgh LTC are being urged to be security conscious about the clubhouse.

House and grounds convener Ian Parlane has issued a reminder to all to ensure that the clubhouse doors are closed when leaving the premises, particularly in the evenings.

Tennis convener Bobby Kerr says: “There have been a few occasions recently where doors have been left open at night and non-members have been found wandering around the clubhouse.

“Even if you have not used the clubhouse, please ensure that when you have finished your game of tennis you check that both the main doors are closed as well as windows, especially at night.”
