Ladies 1st grab victory

rackets-logo-1HELENSBURGH Tennis Club's 1st Ladies team, having been promoted to the West League premier division at the end of last summer, knew they were in for a tough season.

So it has proved so far with a 6-3 defeat to Western in their first match and then a 9-0 loss to an exceptionally strong Newlands side.

Tennis-ball-in-air-wSIGN-UP sheets for the Helensburgh Tennis Club Senior, Veterans and Intermediate Championships are now on the noticeboards in the clubhouse.

Tournament organiser Liz Wylie asks anyone who want to enter to please sign up by 6pm on Saturday May 26. The draw will be displayed from Friday June 1, and finals day is on Saturday August 25.
